Central Partnership is a producer and distributor of high-quality film and television products, and is the largest independent company in the Russian film industry.
Founded in 1997 as a TV series distributor, Central Partnership soon branched out into cinema distribution and is now one of the top Russian distributors, working with such studios as Warner Brothers, Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures, Lions Gate Entertainment, Summit Entertainment, Studio Canal +, Gaumont, Pathe and UGC. Central Partnership also distributes Russian films, many of which are produced by the company itself.
Central Partnership 's production house has already proved to be a highly profitable addition to the company. Original production spans a range of genres and styles, from art-house to blockbusters, including thrillers, action films, drama, horror etc. Each year the company releases about 80-100 hours of television products and about 5-8 full-length feature films.
The very beginning of 2007 saw the first ever Russian fantasy film WOLFHOUND by Nikolai Lebedev ($12 million production budget) release that gained over 20 mln USD box-office. In April, 2009 the Russian historical movie TARAS BULBA (by Vladimir Khotinenko) was released throughout CIS.
One of the Central Partnership's main production objectives has been to bring the Russian literary classics to the TV screen. This has resulted in the highly-acclaimed mini-series MASTER & MARGARITA, DOCTOR ZHIVAGO and THE GOLDEN CALF. A new "pearl" in a row will soon appear - THE BROTHERS KARAMAZOV tv-series.
